Safety and security
Khartoum is considered to be the safest city in Africa—the security
situation is generally stable and reasonable. The crime rate is low
and people can move freely in the capital—mugging and petty theft is
uncommon on the streets. It is possible to walk the streets without
incident late at night, however, care should be taken. Checkpoints
are regularly set up in Khartoum and other cities outside the
capital. |
